Share Your Burdens

Remember the line from the old spiritual, "Nobody knows the trouble I’ve seen, nobody knows but Jesus"? If that’s how you’re feeling, maybe you could use a sympathetic ear and some wise counsel. Especially if it’s debt that’s got you down or an overcrowded schedule that leaves no time for the really important things.

Putting sanity back in your schedule and getting your personal balance sheet back in the black is possible. An excellent way to start is with CSM’s personal counseling.

You can call or visit the ministry’s Fairfax, Virginia, office to work directly with Ken Smith to put your finances in order and your life back on track. You don’t have to face difficult times alone. You’ll follow a practical, scriptural approach to get control of your money and your life.

Call (703) 591-5000 or email the ministry at ken@csmin.org to arrange for your personal appointment. CSM will set up a confidential one to two-hour counseling session upon receipt of your $50 deposit. Counseling is free, although counselees are encouraged to contribute what they can to enable the ministry to help others.

Rick Groux: Building a Deeper Relationship

Does CSM's Life Management Study make a difference? Just ask attorney Rick Groux, who now chairs the CSM board of directors. "I got the information I needed as a Christian to establish a deeper relationship with the Lord," he says of LMS. Groux calls the course "an excellent tool for any Christian to organize his or her life in a successful way."

In serving on the CSM board, Groux sees three goals for the ministry: expanding LMS to a national and international audience, freeing Ken from day-to-day administrative tasks to enable him to do more counseling and developing financial support from institutions such as the Combined Federal Campaign and foundations as well as churches, individuals and Christian-owned businesses.

As one of the youngest members on the CSM board, Rick has appreciated the opportunity to share and grow with other board members. Together they advise and support Ken and help guide the ministry as they see God leading.

Rick committed his life to Christ soon after college when he came to understand more about a personal relationship with Jesus through Young Life. Today, he and his wife Leigh Ann live in Warrenton, Virginia, with their daughter Rosemary.

The Groux family attends St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Haymarket, Virginia, where Rick is on the finance committee and has served as senior warden of the vestry. He also chairs the board of Mercy Medical Airlift.
